The Friends of the Jefferson Library announces new hours and updates to our extended fall book sale which continues through October.
Beginning Saturday, Oct. 3, the library and its annual book sale will be open on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm. Also, through the month of October, every day will be a browse day with no appointment needed to shop. Lastly, a new and exciting update for our sale is the free admission of all students.
October offers browse days, free entry, and also our Friends of the Library Membership Drive. Current and new members can purchase membership when they shop. Membership levels begin at just $5 for individuals, and an entire family may purchase a membership and shop together for only $10.
Sale hours through the rest of the week include every Monday and Wednesday from 2 to 6 pm and Fridays from 1 to 5 pm.
Masks will be required, and the number of patrons will be limited to six at a time. Organizers want to be sure everyone is safe and comfortable.
The sale will run until Oct. 31, and patrons will want to return often. The Friends of the Library request your donations of books, DVDs, music CDs, puzzles, and board games to offer new items throughout the sale. Weekly specials are planned in October. “Be sure to stop in at the sale or check our Facebook pages to see the latest thrills and deals. Give your email address to the library to ensure you don’t miss out,” a book sale organizer said.
The Friends of the Library fall book sale is the group’s one and only fundraiser this year along with the membership drive. Purchases and memberships enable the Friends to fund events and needed equipment for the Library. This year the Friends helped purchase eight new patron computers, the colorful new banners outside the building, support for the summer reading programs, and so much more.
